GROUP THERAPY
Group therapy offers patients the opportunity to work through their issues in the company of others with similar experiences, difficulties, and fears. It is a powerful tool that can increase insight, motivation, and awareness of interpersonal behaviors and patterns.
Group therapy can help to reduce isolation, improve social skills and communication, and offer different perspectives. Patients struggling with compulsive behaviors can also gain support on eliminating those behaviors and will be able to see others in group who have overcome those difficulties and who are thriving in recovery.
Patients receiving individual therapy may benefit from group therapy as a supplement to their ongoing treatment.
